It's true the Internet has changed society, our culture and our lives, some even believe it has come to controls us. Whatever you believe there is no going back, but this evening of talks will explain the ways in which we can take back control, create our own culture and use it to our own advantage.

Plus we invite you to enjoy the copyleft music of Rathole Radio, as they play live and stream a live broadcast.

7pm  - Talks

Francis Irving - 5 Easy Ways to Hack Society Using the Internet

The Internet has created fundamentally new ways that we shop  (think eBay), and that we get entertained (think Pirate Bay). The next Internet revolution is in how we are governed. Francis Irving from mySociety talks about five tools they have made which you can already use, and which give hints at new ways of organising society.

Deena Denaro  - Culture Hacking

"We must prepare young people to face a wave of powerful images, words and sounds." UNESCO, 1982

Referring to both the attempts of the Iranian government and the quote above, "Reversing the Wave" is a TV spot that brings Nokia's brand identity closer in alignment to it's actions. In the style of Ad-Busters Magazine and the Yes Men, it offers "Identity Correction" for a corporation who has put profits above privacy and basic human rights.

Adrain McEwen - Using Arduino's for power consumption monitoring and pollution testing.

The next technology revolution has started through the use of Arduionos', a simple microprocessor that is being programmed at home by thousands of enthusiasts.  Adrian is one of the country's top developers for this new platform.

8.30pm – Rathole Radio Live
