We Didn't Vote to Die at Work!

We Didn’t Vote to Die at Work

Saturday 4th September, 12 - 2pm

Speakers: Hilda Palmer, Manchester Hazards Campaign
Dawn Adams and Linzi Herbertson
Families Against Corporate Killers
Chair: Steve Tombs

Screening of FACE THE FACKS, a film about the real burdens of corporate killing. Hilda Palmer will outline the We Didn’t Vote to Die at Work campaign, followed by Dawn Adams and Linzi Herbertson introducing FACE THE FACKS.
And you can suggest how to take the campaign forward to stop the corporate killing and bring the perpetrators to justice …

The new government has already launched attacks on health and safety law and enforcement, endangering workers and members of the public – attacks made easy by the predominance of the "health and safety has gone mad and gets in the way of kids playing conkers and people in general having fun" line that has been peddled by politicians and the media for years. But poor health and safety kills, as this session demonstrates, and cuts in protection need to be resisted…

The Hazards-led campaign – We Didn't Vote to Die at Work – aims to do just this. Hilda Palmer of Greater Manchester Hazards Centre will introduce the campaign - and ask how you can get involved. Then, two speakers from Families Against Corporate Killers – will recall their own experiences of bereavement by corporate killers, introducing the screening of a new film – FACE THE FACKS – which documents who bears the real burdens of diminishing health and safety protection.
